CARSON (NEWS 1130) – The Whitecaps are on the road this evening, preparing for battle against their Western Conference foes, the LA Galaxy. Vancouver is trying to bounce back after the disappointment of last week’s loss in the Canadian Championship final. The Caps conceded a last minute goal to Toronto to lose the Voyageurs Cup. Defender Jordan Harvey says his squad will use the loss as motivation for tonight’s matchup.
“We have confidence, we are playing very well and we have been playing well for the last few months. We just have to clean up those little mistakes that have been costing us big and I think we will be good.”
The Galaxy have long been regarded as a team that is nearly impossible to beat at home, but the Caps did just that last season in a 1-0 win to snap LA’s 29-game home unbeaten streak. Tim Parker says there is no reason Vancouver can’t pull off another upset tonight.
“Beating LA in LA is tough, especially with their fans and their stadium. It is a great place to play. Trying to replicate our victory is going to be huge for us, but it will also be a big game for them as well. We have to make sure we do our best to replicate what we did last year.
Kendall Waston returns to the Caps lineup after serving his two game suspension.
Vancouver sits a point ahead of LA in the standings, although the Galaxy have a game in hand.
Kick off is at 7:30 p.m.
